Out of the 2 DHB R1's come highly recommended for the price, but Shimano are also good, personally I have Shimano R086's. But ordering online can be risky as you cannot try them on.

Im a size 8 normal shoe and went for size 44 Shimano after alot of advise to go one size higher than normal, but specialized im a 43 and both where a good fit.... so trying on the shoes first is advised.

I would seriously suggest you try them on before you buy as manufacturers have wildly different sizing systems. Just make sure they are comfy and you get your cleats adjusted correctly.

My first shoes are Specialized Sport Road, a bit more pricey but I liked the idea of the body geometry mods as I have weird feet (wide, flatish feet, hammer toes etc). They're going strong so i have no complaints.

Never used the DHB, but can highly reccomend any shimano shoes. Those Ro75 are v good value and very comfortable (I have the mtb version).

I recently bought my first pair of cycling shoes, in the end I bought some Shimano RO76 shoes that I am very happy with. I'm a UK size 11 and was a 46 in a Shimano and a 45 in Specialized so I would definitely recommend buying your first pair (til you know your sizing) from an actual shop where you can try them on.
