From what I've read - No. Never used them myself, but others seem to have ordered items, to find out two weeks later that they never had stock.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos
  • Sounds like I am another Winstanley's casualty! Ordered a Raleigh Airlite X at what I thought was a fantastic price, even called a week before and was assured the bike was still offered for sale. They pledge to contact you within 3 working days if there is a problem and at 2 working days and 7 1/2 hours I was e mailedand told that the item was not in stock! I questioned why it had remained on offer , with numerous price changes only for it to be "denied" as soon as a punter had "bit"! Angry e mails and a angry phone call and I get the impression that the company thinks it was "just one of those things" and "nothing to do with us guv!" Well may be it was, still left angry and disappointed tho'.

    Bought a Boardman instead!

They don't exactly have the best reputation, mixed reviews, some good, some bad.

I have just bought my first bike from Winstanleysbikes and my experience was very positive - I ordered the bike online at 0930 on Monday and it arrived at about 1500 the next day. The bike itself was very reasonably priced, much cheaper than other internet site.

My last bike was over 30 years ago and was used by three older brothers before me (no gears, baldish tyres and only a back brake) so I'm slightly bemused by the 21 gear beast standing by the front door. I'm sure I'll be making extensive use of the FAQs and search function here.

I realise that this thread is a month old but it seemed fair to post details of my good experience with this vendor.

    cheers

Got a Gore Cross Jacket from them last month. Price was excellent. Took nearly a month to arrive, but the site did say it wasn't in stock.

Price vs Delivery trade off. I'm fairly happy.

Bought my Felt F55 from them got an excellent deal, and the bike was nigh on perfectly tuned out of the box, just had to tweak the front derailler for the half rail. Arrived when they said it would and the guys were very freindly and knowledgable.
    Go for it! :D
  • Thought I'd add a little note to this thread..

I tried to order a 2008 model Giro Hex from them and was advised they couldnt get them from the suppliers as they were discontinued. Nothing overly shocking about that, but I wonder whether they should even really be including them in their online catalogue. Granted, its advertised as not in stock and available to order in 2-7 days but it still seems misleading to me - they must know there is no way to get these helmets, but still advertise them. Maybe a way to draw in potential customers to sign up, perhaps..
    Do it.

Terrible place. Ordered a frame from them that stated it would be available in 7-10 days. No comms from them to say it would be longer. Had to chase again and again. Waited for 4 weeks then had to nag many times to get out of the deal. Do not touch with a very long pole.
