Roadie seeks full suspension MTB, £500 budget.

Hi guys, I'm a roadie, sorry, lol. Just want some advice on what full suspension MTB bike to get for around £500. Just something to ride occasionally to break up the routine of road miles. Fancy getting out there and having some fun on the trails. Ex moto crosser you see, I mmiss the mud.

Seen the feature above but was after people personal opinions on a good bike for this money.

Or should i just get a hardtail for that sort of money. I really have no idea. i know u pay for what u get but i have no idea what to plump for.

Try looking at the giant xtc range, quite agressive geometry so you'd be used to it and good spec for the dollar! I warn you though you may start to neglect the road bike

Really need to be spending £800plus for a decent full susser, unless you go second hand, check the classifieds.

After a road bike a £ 500 full susser will feel (and weigh) like an oil tanker. Hardtail all the way for that budget (just make sure it has hydraulic disks not mechanicals at that price point).

Hardtail unless you want the etxra weight and general unreliability of a susser at this price.

Carrera Fury is a decent, mid travel forked bike for this money. Decathlon Rockrider 6.2 and Genesis Core worth a look too: try them out if you can.
