Hi guys..I have reduced the travel on my forks from 140mm to 100mm a couple of weeks back.drained the oil out into tub and refilled when finished so i didn't loss much oil..
The other day i was reading about servicing forks in a magazine and it said to fill 40ml of fork oil into bottom of chamber..aw no i though there was no way i put 40ml back into it..
any way i ordered the correct oil from mojo wich i thought was 10wt.This was for r cartridge forks so i asumed float r ment r cartridge but they have sent 7wt ...
can anybody tell me what a r cartridge is and how do i tell if one is fitted to my fork ?r do i have to phone mojo up and tell them they have sent me the wrong oil??
the forks are 2008 fox float r with just rebound settings.
Can some oneadvise before i make a tit of myself....

I just got this from the website:

Remove the blue air cap from the top of the left fork leg. Let the air out of the fork. Remove the left top cap with a 26mm socket 6-point socket wrench.
Loosen the bottom nut 3-4 turns with a 10mm wrench. With a plastic mallet, gently tap the bottom of the shaft to disengage it from the lower leg. Allow oil to drain into a bucket. Remove the bottom nut and crush washer.
Compress the fork as much as possible. The air piston will be visible about one inch below the top of the upper tube. Push the bottom of the air shaft upwards to push the air piston out of the top of the upper tube. Use a long, thin shaft screwdriver to push the bottom of the air shaft up through the hole in the bottom of the lower leg.
Pull the air-shaft assembly from the fork. Refer to the drawings below and add or remove the appropriate number of 20mm spacer(s) to achieve the desired travel.
Note: Spacers snap onto the air shaft between the negative spring guide and topout plate, as shown in the travel spacer orientation drawing below.

Lubricate the U-cup seal on the air piston with FOX FLOAT Fluid and re-install the air shaft assembly into the upper tube. Be sure to orient the U-cup seal as shown in the Seal Orientation drawing below.
Push the shaft until it approaches the bottom hole of the fork. Do not push the shaft all the way through the bottom hole.
Turn the fork upside down. Measure and pour 30cc of FOX Suspension Fluid through the bottom hole.
Push the air shaft assembly up until the shaft comes through the bottom hole. Install the crush washer and bottom nut. Torque to 50 in-lbs.
Turn the fork right side up. Pour 5cc of FOX FLOAT Fluid on top of the air piston.
Lubricate the o-ring on the air topcap with FOX FLOAT Fluid.
Re-install the topcap and torque to 165 in-lbs.
Pump up the fork to the desired pressure and cycle it several times to check for proper operation.
    Re-install the blue air cap.
    You’re done. Go ride.

You are not doing anytjing to the damper, just the air spring. It says 30ml, and to use 7wt.

hi..ye i have already done all that with the spacers and that...
just wondering as fox say 7 wt oil but mbr magazine say 10wt if it has a r cartridge..
the more i think about it ..i think they mean the r h leg with the daper should be 10wt not l h leg with air chamber in it....

    Fox are right.

In the above, I don't see anything mentioning the damper.

phoned mojo this morning and asked them about oil..They said that either 7 or 10 can go in the underside of the air chamber but 10 wt goes in the other side if it only has rebound setting and nothing else ie lock out etc.
They told me it was there mistake on sending the 7wt oil and they would send 10wt free of charge....
nice people work at mojo i think....

10wt (damper - 160ml), 7wt (spring-side oil bath - 30ml), fox float fluid (air chamber - 5ml), taken from mojo's site, not sure it the levels would be the same with your reduced travel. there is a pdf file on the website under the 'Fox Parts' section details what oil is required for which forks.

hi guys..got 10wt oil delivered today and opened the bottle to find a red coloured oil.
the 7wt oil is green so if your oil comes out the fork green you need to put 7 wt oil back in and red 10wt..just need to sort out measurements now..
