Guilty secret: I dont use the gears on my bike

I've had the Kona Jake for about 4 months now but unlike the Marin I was riding (a 10 speed) I've found I dont use the gears much.. infact I'm not even 100% sure I'm using them right. :oops:

At most I seem to be using 2 settings and I end up doing about 20mph no trouble... I have to admit I find the gear selection a bit confusing with the tiagra having an extra front sprocket compared to me old Marin. :oops:

Its not even that.. I have used them on hills... I'm not even sure I've selected them right LOL

Choose a route that uses Chalk Hill, Peartree Road and the Peartree end of Athelstan Road as uphill sections, then get back to us! :twisted:

I have used chessel often, which is around the corner from athelstan (and a bit more windy)

Chalkhill (thats the bit by the trainstation isnt it?) is for nutters - too many busses :?

If your legs end up burning like hell, when they really shouldn't be, that's when you've made the wrong gear selection.

Judging by the number of riders I see trying to turn too big a gear, you aren't the only one who doesn't cant use their gears!
