Pre-Racing Eating

My first open race starts at 1pm tomorrow. How should i eat leading up this that event. Should I have breakfast then pasta at around 11am?

I'm doing the Cape Argus on 8 March and I'm wondering what I should (and shouldnt) be eating in the week before the ride. Last year I think I overdid the whole pasta thing and didnt feel great during the ride, so my time suffered despite feeling well prepared otherwise.
