Don't know really only ridden it up & down the road!!

I'm off to Llandegla tomorrow so I'll soon find out, I'd imagine there's a bit of fettling to be done with the shock and the rebound settings on the fork, but that should do it.

How heavy are you? what made you go for the firm spring?

I ride a stock pike spring (think these are medium?) i'm 14stone, and I find it plush, responsive and a good soaker for the downhills, with great small bump compliance.
  • You will regret the Joplin seatpost-trust me.....

Always thought I was getting too much sag, so I spoke to Tim @ TF tuned and he said the stock spring in Pikes is good for riders between 11 and 12 stone, no more really.

I'm 13st so i went for teh Firm, it feels so much better, firmer but just as plush.

Fanny - I've heard the horror stories, had mine for around 5 months, if you keep it clean and regualarly serviced it's all good, I've had no issues with mine at all.

altern8 - I'd like a red Hope rear skewer but they only sell them in pairs AFAIK, and with having a Maxel it'd be a waste of money

I was thinking of doing the DT RWS thing on the back at some point

It's not too bad actually, certainly stops quite alot of stuff, it's '08 crud catcher
  • I'm 12 stone and have changed mine to a firm spring because it felt like it wasn't coping to well and made my wrists ache ...don't have that problem anymore !!

Those white pikes do look very 8)

Think I may pick up one of those front crud catchers, are they held on with elastic strap thingies?

Do you find it helps with cleaning the bike as in not as much crud to remove from frame etc?

    all these questions LOL
  • Am trying to put a pic on here and it won't work

IT actually feels very good, rips the downs and climbs pretty much as well as the pikes, mosre stable thru tight berms etc.

Surprisingly I found I could generate Air Time easier, which is nice.

As for the slackness, the picture is at a funny angle and my deive slopes a bit too, it's not that bad really, probaly 1/2 a deg slacker than standard
