Been ages since i posted on here is the problem:
I live in a 3rd floor flat, no garden, there is a small yard wallkway at the back of the flats, but all the scummy chav's hang out there so thats a no go, although it is clear in the mornings.
So where to clean the bike? today i degreased the chain/rear mech and cassette and ended up ruining the washing up bowl, normally i manage to clean the most mud off at the trails but recently ether the places have been closed by the time ive got back or ive rode something local so no where to clean the bike!
Someone suggested the bath but im thinking could end up making a right mess of it!
Anyone else in the same boat??

bathroom with a piece of taupaulin on the floor?
what about a self serve car wash at a big supermarket or petrol station? If your driving to and from trails you could stop on the way back?0 -

bigbenj_08 i am gonna guess that ridding a bike through a car wash isnt that easy, but that said feel free to give it a go and let me know.Ride it hard on a hardtail0

I was looking at those Dirtworkers too, great idea !0

Just be careful jetwashing a bike. Steer clear of the wheels, BB and headset, you don't want to force water into any bearings.

I didn't mean ride through a car wash!
the tesco by me has a self serve area with a pressure washer, spongy thing that has water and soap and a low pressure hose.0 -
Yep ive seen the dirtworker not a bad idea, still doesn't fix the local rides cleaning after as i ride from home.
Looks like it may be the bath after all!0 -
I've got one of those garden sprayer things from Homebase, which works a lot better than taking endless buckets of water up and down the lift!0

Simply move to a large house with a few acres of land. :roll:0

I got one for Christmas, I've only used it a couple of times but to be honest it's been brilliant for cleaning off the bike before putting it back in, only thing I would do next time is to take a towel or something to dry it off before I put it back in.
I did have to give it a proper clean when I got home as it was that filthy I ran out of water before it was clean.0 -
how about in a bath with the water running? that way the dirt wont have time to stick or mark the tub, you'd need to use a bit of old carpet or rubber mat though as well to stop the bike scratching the bath. or just wait till summer and let the rain clean it!0
