Flaking paint from an aluminum frame

I have a Bianchi flat bar road bike with an aluminium frame I have owned for a couple of years which I use for commuting . It is painted matt black and I have noticed that under the bottom bracket quite a lot of the paint is now missing and bare metal can be seen. Does anyone have any advice about painting it? Should I use something like hammerite, or is there a better option? As it is aluminum it should not rust, but I would like to protect the frame with a bit of paint anyway.

You can touch it up with paint if you like, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Aluminium oxidises very readily, so the white powdery coating that you will see does a good job of protecting the metal underneath. Hammerite would be as good as anything else.
