Need a new inner tube - due to a whispering tyre and two resultant bouts of furious pumping on the way in.

Could you help recommend a shop near to Old Street EC1Y where I can buy a new inner tube at lunch-time.

Thanks

I accept that they don't (a) sell enough red and white stuff, and (b) red and white tart-machines. :P However, the chaps in Evans in the same building as my office are very helpful (particularly when I rear wheel was having a bit of an episode a couple of weeks ago :? ).

  • The guys in Evans Spitalfields are/were lovely, so patient and nice, and some of them really know their stuff. Not all of them, obviously.

When I commuted from Essex they were my LBS....

Work is just around the corner from old street. 10min walk to Evans in spitalfields. I tend to go for tubes, brake blocks etc. They have a decent selection of tools, lights in stock, which has been handy on occasion.

I too work above an Evans (Fenchurch Street) and they are very handy for when I discover a flat at the end of the day as they stay open late and are happy to lend a track pump, nice to have some quite nice bikes to check out on the way in and out of the office as well.

Nope - I'm at LA Fitness. My bike comes up in the lift with me. (Or up the stairs when the poxy lifts aren't working!)

  • Don't these things go off in funny directions (ohh err missus)

    - people bonding
    - folk saying how much they like evans, I have stuck up for them here before

Maybe someone should list local bike shops locations or has that been done somewhere already and I cant find it, ratings could be set up in some sort of michelin star sort of way.

I dont know but some might like it?
