isle of bute mtb trails ????

i am holidaying on the isle of bute in august and wondered if any one has any info on trails/routes on the island?

    No trails of any consequence. A few short forest trails are shown on OS mapping in the north east but they don't go anywhere. Again there are bit and pieces in the south but you would have to go searching to string anything worthwhile together. South of Rothesay there are trails through Mount Stuart estate but this is private. Other tracks down the centre of Bute look good on the map but are mainly ditches churned up by farm 4x4s. Where Bute does score is road cycling. It's relatively flat with great scenery and very little traffic. If nothing else stay fit by sticking to tar and enjoy the holiday atmosphere of the many bays dotted around the coast.
