Nevegal/High Roller for trail centres

Had a look through the previous tyre threads and these 2 seem to crop up quite regularly: Kenda Nevegal and Maxxis High Roller
I'm riding Bonty mud-x at the moment, but have been riding quite a few trail centres recently that are well drained and have either a rocky / hard compact pebbley surface or a hard sandy surface. Can't help feeling my mud-x tyres are not doing themselves justice......
Need to be tubeless ready tyres..... Any others I should consider as my fingers are crossed for dryer weather now!!!

Maxxis High Rollers, or if the conditions are reasonably well drained and fast have a look at Maxxis Larssen TTs0

I must admit to liking Nevegals, but I rode a while ago at Whinlatter and they just did not hook up at all (StickE front and DTC rear) Changed to a Rampage SC front and an Intense C225 C3 and had masses more grip.
I do like High rollers as well, 42A front and 60 rear, usually run the rear tyre backwards for better climbing grip. But not everone like the dead bit when you lean them over before the side lugs start biting properly...0 -
Hmmm, the 2.35 High rollers UST look good - aint cheap though

Have a High Roller 2.35 LUST on the front and it hooks up well (used at Cwm Carn and Afan so far), using a Mud-X on the rear but changing that to an Advantage soon as it's overkill at a trail centre.0

As I've read on Pinkbike, a guy said that the Highrollers are allround tire.
Good in mud, wet, dry, roots.
Mine are good in dry and in roots and rocks. Mud, don't know.0 -
2.35 Blue Groove Stick-E up front and a 2.1 High roller 62a out back for speed and tail out fun!0

i like nevegals and am yet to try high rollers but a lot of magazines rave about them and Steve Peat uses them so when my nevegals wear out i'm goin to have a look at high rollers

Yeah, likewise I use Nevegals and they've done me proud, but I'm sure I'd be just as happy on high rollers. Both proper sensible allrounders.Uncompromising extremist0

Do the high rollers handle wet rocks and roots well? These seem to be the toughest and most common obstacles I come across on my local trails (bar lots of mud, but I don't want an all out mud tyre). I've been pretty disappointed with the Nobby Nic / Racing Ralph combo on my Cube, so I'm looking to change and put them back on in the summer when I think they'll come into their own.
I had Panaracer Fire XCs on my old bike and they were pretty decent, so that's another option, but at the moment the front end really doesn't inspire much confidence.0 -
HRs are great on wet rocks - nothing is that great on wet roots but they are the best I've tried, esp with low pressure. They are a bit draggy in 2.35 super tacky, but so much grip on the DHs which is all I care about really.0

I'd be using the XC version, but I assume it's the same story. Probably worth a shot I reckons0

Just riding along seem to rate standard non ust Maxxis for use with sealant:

I've just gone for Bonty acx & xr combo for Summer, not tried yet though. Should seal up pretty easy on my tubeless bonty wheels though.0 -
I run a ST High roller up front and a Maxpro on the rear, both in 2.35".
It's a great combo that copes with most things you throw at it, arguably not as fast as runnign Ignitors front adn rear but they deal with wet rocks, and roots much better.0 -
I use Panaracer Cinders 2.25 front and back, absolutely great on any terrain.0
