Fork cleaning.

just a simple one.
On my last ride over a dusty trail i noticed when cleaning lots of fine dust on the uppertubes(i think, the two shiny tubes that go into the lower ones when forks compress).
There is a light film of oil under the dust. If i wipe off the dust the oil will be removed too. I assume the oil is from inside the fork when they have been compressed and will get recoated next time this happens.
Am i safe to clean, is it better left alone or should i use somehing to re oil after cleaning. If you re-oil what do you use?

What forks are they?
Usually a wipe with a cloth and a couple o drops of oil on the seals is all that is needed.0 -
TORA 302 U TURN.
you just oil around the top of the seals. What oil do you use specific fork oil or just anything like engine oil etc.0 -
Did you get a manual, is all in there.
Teflon chain oil works well. Put some on the upper tube/seal junction and compress the forks a few times. Wipe off and repeat until the ring is clear oil.0
