What should i use with an aluminium post in an aluminium frame to prevent the post becoming stuck? Ive heard mentions of grease but it seems counter intuitive to grease something that i dont want to move under load...
Thanks

  • grease will stop it siezing, get some of the red telfon stuff from halfords or Weldtite do it. It also stops any annoying skeaks/creaks from the seatpost. it does seem dumb greasing a seatpost but trust me it works! you dont need tonnes, just a thin layer to stop mpisture getting in and causing problems
Carbon fibre, it's all nonsense. Drink beer. Ride a steel bike. Don't be a ponce.

copper grease would be best i think - it is also known as anti-seize compound. It isnt designed to take shear stresses like other grease used for lubrication, just stops stuff sticking together
