    Tom Danielson?

Lance A...he was 30 seconds slower than i expected him to be...and am suspect of his margin for further improvement in the next 3 months...he's been saying he's fitter than ever for this time of year and yet now...he is saying he has done no intervals and this was a shock to the system...my bet is he'll be reminded of his age later in this race.
  • finding it tough without Ferrari, is he?

Only time will tell about Armstrong's condition, but I did wonder whether he would be under team orders not to ride 100% in order to keep Levi on top. Armstrong may need to be in Levi 's good books for the TDF!

To be fair though, he seems to have done a lot of work on the front for the team this week. It was him closing the gap at the front of the bunch on stage 5 about 1 mile from the finish.

Levi looked in remarkably good shape - straight into an interview after he crossed the line, whereas most others looked like they'd need to be helped off their bikes.

Most interesting result of this TT with respect to the rest of the season IMHO: Gesink 1 sec behind Vandevelde, beating Armstrong. Andy S isn't at that level of TT-ing yet...

Great rides by Tom Zirbel (7th @ 39s) and Ben Jacques-Maynes (11th @ 55s) both from Bissell. Nice to see some unfamiliar names up there.

Gustav Larsson also confirmed his TT ability following on from 2nd in the Olympic TT - one to watch for the future?

Good ride by Voigt as well (5th @ 30s), he's in pretty good shape for this early in the season. Never really had him pegged as a TT rider before.

Yeah the old CSC team seemed well up there - as they normally are.

I reckon LAs performance was pretty good for someone coming back.

Z (and others) seemed to spend a fair bit of time with his head down and the tail of his pointy hat sticking up. If he was using a radio his DS should have been bawling at him to keep his bloody head up!

Quite a few people using a "semi praying mantis" position this season with their elbows really close together. Looks very uncomfortable.

Both Dave Z and Leipheimer spent a lot of time "kissing their wrists" for want of better description.
