Wheels......................Help Please!

Hi,

I'm sorry to ask this as I know it must have been asked before but I've not been able to find a relevant thread. I'm looking to upgrade my wheels on my Felt F55 and am unsure which to go for. I've looked at the Fulcrum Racing 3's, Ritchey Wcs Protocol and finally some hand built but the thing putting me off the hand built is that I have no idea what combination to use.

I'm 95kg
I want them for training, club runs, sportives etc, I don't race.........yet
I'm quite a strong rider and have noticed that when I get the hammer down there is a fair bit of flex in my Aksiums which came with the bike.
Budget is around £300-£350

Any help would be appreciated, I've been looking for a while now and am no further to making a decision.

    Well, they're above your budget, but I just got a set of Mavic Ksyrium SL's for £497, from JE James cycles, which is well below RRP. Fantastic wheels, super stiff laterally, but still a decent ride, so they have good vertical compliance. Light, and great for out of saddle efforts. They are 500 grammes lighter than my old Shimano R535 wheels, yet so much stiffer. They also look the business. I am 78 kgs, but was also 90kgs a year ago, and know how horrible a flexible wheel feels, especially on out of the saddle climbs and sprints. You feel like your power is being used up in the wheels rather than actually propelling the bike forward.

    If you do go for them though, phone them and tell them you want them to package them properly or you'll refuse to take delivery... Mine turned up while I was out, rattling around in a box with no protection whatsoever, with the anodising scratched off one of the hubs and spokes, and after complaining I didn't even get so much as a reply. Not on for wheels of this price...
