Got a DMR Tension Seeker for the frame, but should I tension up or down?
Whats the difference/whats best?

Tension up if you can, puts more chain in contact with the cog. Looks better too.
  • Depends what you can get away with, my silly little bike has it tensioned up at the chainguide. But my carrera has a double tensioner that means i can push it up for better wrap then have the spring arm going down to keep the chain tight.
  • It may depend on your dropouts. The weld on my SS means I cannot push the chain high enough so I can only tension down. Or was that too obvious?!
What you're talking about is 'practice'... which should be banned as a performance enhancer!

    Happiness is... perfect chain tension!
