So who's riding a Dolan at California?

Watching the Tour of California on Eurosport last night there was a discussion about rebadged frames - "common back in the day but now virtually unheard of" was the answer (I paraphrase). Terry Dolan contacted the commentators with the juicy morsel - "there are 5 Dolans in the peleton".

So who do you reckon is riding a Dolan?

If they're using them, why are they trying to hide it?

Because their bike sponsor might not like it.

Hamilton, Landis, Mancebo, Sevilla and Guttierez, but they are tranquilo about being found out.

Basso bought a Dolan, but only thought about riding it, while Frank Schleck put a downpayment down, but only for advice on positioning.
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

Which is just a rebadged standard Deddacai Scuro frameset isn't it?

  • That Dolan Hercules looks like one made by XDS Carbon, who also make frames for Trek.

Those could be the Giants they used last year; Scott does not have a full on TT bike as the Plasma is really a Tri bike and won't fit all the TT guys.

So Millar wasn't riding a Plasma in his time on Saunier-Duval?

Let me see if I've got this straight. Scott's road frame is called an Addict. And their TT frame is called Plasma?

Hopefully one of next years models will be called Reticulocyte.
