Colnago EPS is just orgasmic!

All I can say, what a bike. Or, should I say, what a frame. Having been a Pinarello owner, I'm pleased to come across to Colnago. My last Pinarello was the Paris, which is no slouch by any means. I have also owned a De Rosa Idol and recently spent the weekend riding on a Pinarello Prince. But, without question the EPS is head and shoulders above those bikes. Can this really be true I hear you say? Well, go and test ride one! You just ride with this bloody great smile on your face. With every turn of speed, the frame just projects you forward like a missile. Its so sure footed when putting the frame through its paces. It kind of slowly wispers in your ear, is that all you got! Down hill, give the bike some beans, its just so silky smooth and precise! By far, this is the best bike I have ever put my leg over. It just wants to motor! Yes and comfort. I don't know how the boys at Colnago do it, but for a stiff carbon frame, this bike is amazingly comfortable! Another thing that really strikes me about this bike is the attention to detail in the production and finish. The paintwork is superb along with the striking carbon look. And, for me, its made in Italy which is stated on the frame. Guys, this bike is built for purpose!

Good to hear nicensleazy, almost ready to put a deposit down on one. Just waiting for a test ride organised by windwave.
Ridden an Idol which was nice but imo a bit too dampened, smooth yes but not the fastest of rides. Nice to hear the EPS is a better ride.0 -
Good for you! Out of interest what is the Prince like to ride?0

I was quite fortunate, my friend was going away the weekend so he let me play on his Prince. Don't get me wrong, its a lovely frame. But if you are really putting me on the spot, then I would say the EPS. Just thought the EPS handled better and felt more of a dedicted ride. I think, pound for pound, the EPS wins hands down for me!0 -

Super Record 11 and Lightweights.....
I'll draw the line at lightweights - hope they are race use only...otherwise I'll come down to scalp you on my slicked up MTB, never mind the Herety....... ?
TBH it's the spec I want at some point...but not with lightweights.....I need something a bit more robust, and about £500-£700 is the limit given the roads where I live....
Lurvely bike...................0 -

I fully agree, but I was all alone in the wilderness and never owned a Colnago before. I had mainly owned Pinarello frames which a lovely. Up to recently, I have been riding a Paris which is a lovely frame. Then my friend went away for the weekend and let me borrow his Prince. The Prince was slightly better or should I say, stiffer then the Paris but it was marginal. I guess because I was also riding a Prince it was a nice feeling. But, getting down to the hard facts, for the Price I couldn't justify the leap from the Paris to the Prince. Especially as the performance/handeling was slightly better. However, whe I tested out the new EPS, its was just bloody amazing. It was a great buzz from start to finish. I just didn't want the ride to end! The EPS is most certainly built for purpose!0 -

Nice pics Gussy! Shame its in the dark. I trust you are enjoying it! Where did you buy your frame from?0 -
Lights and a saddle bag on an EPS..oh dear god.............. :shock:0

my word I was tempted for a second but I just googled and found a frameset price of about 10 x the value of my car.
I bet you could afford to keep a team car on standby if you wanted to nip out on it.
