about tyre pressures, off road, around 30 - 40 psi, more for thin tyres.
On road anything up to 100psi. Anything above that results in skittery cornering, and the roads in britain aren't smooth enough.
Any bike is good enough to start on, will you be rding off road with friends?

Don't forget to wave and smile at fellow cyclistsPictures are better than words because some words are big and hard to understand.

Recommended pressures are on the tyre walls. Not sure where you can ride close to Swindon, but you're within pretty easy reach of Wales, which is always a bonus!0

The Gatecrasher is more of a jump bike, with quite strange gear ratios!
For general trail riding you may find an XC type bike a better bet.0 -
