I have just returned from a trip to london and I am frankly amazed! the amount of really good looking fixie bikes was phenomenal to say the least, I was mostly around the holburn and covent garden area, so to anyone that rides a fixie I salute you and your culture and think that it is really great for our sport as you show normal people that cycling is not only enjoyable but stylish also so thank you.

To which the correct response from you to him should have been, "Why don't you XXXX off back to Brick Lane, you media ponce."* :D

    * Still tempted to get myself a fixie, and a courier bag - but there's no way I'd go down the "nicked the handlebars off my son's balance bike" route. Would getting a "fixie" but hiding a three speed hub gear in it be cheating?
Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.

    I think it's pronounced "meejah". :P

Do they have fixer-only bike racks in the West End now?

  • Blake makes a good point, much as I get fed up of the fashion fixies and the bad reputation they are giving the function fixies (like me), if they are getting more people into cycling then that's brilliant in my book.

Everytime I get my back side into town I do tend to perve over the bikes rather than than the mass's of totty I keep on being nudged about by mates.

Hail to the fixie. Want one and going to get one just cant tell the mrs just yet. Best go for a subtle bribe first
The doctor said I needed to start drinking more whiskey. Also, I’m calling myself ‘the doctor’ now
