Hey guys,

Sooo I got back into mtb and I adore it. Problem is I want to build up a unique set up and I have no clue about sizing specifics. I would be at my LBS asking this but after going there a couple times I find those guys...well...smug is a strong word but something close to it (they are a bunch of fixie riders who look at you like you are the dumbest person in the world if you ask a novice question, and they will treat you like crap). So heres what I got and heres what I want

Got: 1997 gary fisher hoo koo e koo.
Specs at http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/Bike ... &Type=bike

Want on it (with all the info I have on the piece): Atomlab 3" riser handlebar-25.4mm clamping area
cane creek 110 headset-1.1/8", lower stack height -12.05mm, upper stack height- 16.56mm
atomlab pimplite stem-53mm, 1.1/8", 25.4mm clamp
forte shovel platform pedals
forte single-speed conversion kit
atomlab dj saddle
halo twin rail tires 26x2.2

is there any chance this will all fit? any help would be much appreciated!

The bar will fit the stem.

The stem will fit the fork steerer if it is a 1 nd 1/8th threadless, and there is enough of it. Steerer looks to be that size.

The tyres will fit the rims, but check clearance of fork brace and rear stays. Only way to find out it to fit them.

Pedals will fit the cranks if both 9/16th fittings.

Saddle should fit the seatpost clamp.

Not sure about the SS conversion, I'll have to see what the kit comprises.

Are you trying to turn this into a jump bike?
  • yeah I would like to do some dj/street on it but not exclusively, I still love trails and I use it to bike around school as well. I should just build from scratch but Ive got some serious sentimental value to this guy.

You'll kill it! Honestly! Is a light xc frame, and an old one at that.

I'd love her for what she is ;-)

this is your bike, 12 years on =)

seriously though, if you have that sort of money to blow on an old bike, it may be time to consider a new build, i dont want to use the phrase "throwing good money after bad", but in the end you might be happier with a new bike.

still, you might have a history with that bike you cant let go of, i certainly did up until 3 year s ago.
