Increasing "spring" tension on Canti's

Hi, is there anyway in which you can increase the spring tension on cantis??
Its only that me not being a mechanic or having much knowledge at that stuff, i dont know how to make them go back further. Or more to the point of the problem, where they started. They will be far away enough so that they dont cause enough trouble but once i break, occasionally they will not move back far enough or to where they came from which means they rub on the rim and can be very frustrating as you can imagine.
Any help would be kindly appreciated.
Thanks

Cantis or V brakes (as some people call V brakes Cantis)
but with your bike it is possible they are cantis."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

there is only one way and that is to move the spring to another hole on the pivot.
or if there is an alternative hole in the arm.

If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0
