Hi all. Trying to free up some cash and either keep my inbred or Spesh FSR.
I have a specialized FSR frame and have a set of 130mm Fox forks on the inbred. Will they be ok on the fsr frame as it comes with 100mm standard or will it be too much travel for the frame.
Are the frames designed for optimum travel etc.

Thanks

Check the Spesh website - there is a section on user manuals for current and archive bikes. Some of the user manuals state the max fork travel, others do not.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Thanks mate. Didnt think of that.

    From the spesh site

" WARNING: The FSRxc frame is compatible
ONLY with single crown forks that have travel
    of 5.1” (130mm) or less.
Use of different styled forks or forks with
longer travel may result in catastrophic failure
of the frame which may result in serious personal injury or death."

    Sounds OK to me :D
  • I ran 140mm forks on my old FSR Stumpy frame, which I think was 100mm at the rear. I just made sure that the forks were set with a fair bit of sag. It handled fine and downhill was much better
