Problem shifting into granny on a triple
105 9-speed shifters and FD. I was having difficulties which seemed to be down to the derailleur- the cable tension loosened but the derailleur would not move unless pushed by hand. So I replaced the derailleur and (inner) cable.
Now it seems to be the other way around, shifting into the small ring does not immediately release the cable (it seems to sort of part-release it, like a trim but bigger) but will fully release it after a bit of waggling the shift lever. At this point the derailleur will happily ping over to the granny and the shift is fine.
Now I did not grease the cable and I put the outer back on the wrong way around, e.g. the bit that used to be at the frame is at the lever and vice-versa. Should I start by switching that back or does it matter (only thing I can imagine is that the shape has sort of adapted to the frame and it might be snagging a bit.)
Any tips appreciated.
