  • i have a 2008 Cannondale f6, which is a great bike. not had any problems with it. although i will say that the forks and the tyres aren`t very good off road, not a bad weight either.

The components are up to the job, the basic alivio gearing works well in all conditions and never had any problems.

i have just upgraded the bike this weekend to xt, hayes stroker disc brakes, sun rims/xt disc hubs and fox vanilla r forks which have made a difference to the weight and handling.

although i have the cannondale, the scott doesn`t look too bad a deal as you get shimano hydraulic discs for not much extra money aswell as deore rear mech. the forks are pretty much the same and i would say they way almost the same too.

if you can try and test ride both at a local dealer before you make a decision.

  • Another F6 owner here, nice frame and handles well, forks are ok for now but when I start the upgrade path these will be first, avid Juicy 3 brakes are still nice an crisp after 4 months use as are the gears.

I've had to replace the ball bearings in the headset as mine had rusted, probably not enough grease used when assembled, no regrets thought this is a good bike for the money.
  • I have an 08 aspect 45 and if you can find one of those I'd reccomend you get one. With the 09 you're paying over £100 more for pretty much just the deore rear mech.

    A useful tool...
  • I have the F6 09 disc model.... not been to happy with it, main problem for me has been front mech and chocolate middle ring, bike as a whole aint to bad, in my opinion cannondale have saved money in the wrong place, if there was a right place to cut costs! perhaps better shifters and front /rear mech would have taken cost to far out of the target price bracket the frame is excellent and is used in bikes of twice the price, the brakes have been excellent too.
Recently bought a Hoo koo e koo, with hindsight the bike I should have bought first, Cannondale is going to be my town/commute bike, expecting new cranks with 28 38 48 rings today and will upgrade mechs and shifters as they wear out.
I will recomend the cannondale even though I have had problems, just find a bike with the right spec that fits... sometimes the price for the name aint the right way to go.
