God this man could moan for britain if he wasnt Belgian. i see he was moaning again
about the race radio's not working - aww his poor Astana team, thank goodness his poor riders were not about before the late 80`s when riders such as Hinault,Kelly,LeMond had to use their own brain cells how to read a race. Radio `s in my opinion should not be allowed in races, this would mean we would get back to classic racing with riders having to make sure they stay attentive and not miss the breaks - rather than having a tony blackburn in his ear telling him what to do. Dry your eyes Bruyneel.

You mean before he brough radios to the peloton?Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
I can see why he is complaining - look at the tv coverage - no time checks and hard to see whats going on. He will want to win it for the third consecutive time after all.
I want time checks and i am just a spectator.0 -

and yet yesterday Eurosport were getting all their time checks, composition of the break etc from - the Astana team car. When other teams were getting nothing.
Have to say I find it virtually impossible to believe Team Hogstrong - it's smoke and mirrors0 -
Well ES werent getting anything today ? The organisation seems a bit dodgy - and can we please buy the cameraman a cloth for his lens.0

It does need to get its act together as a race - strong field (though many of the names are there for early season conditioning rather than for the GC) but the coverage is abysmal with barely any useful information and its habit of changing the rules to make sure Leipheimer (or A.N. Other American) wins robs it of some credibility.
But the racing itself has been pretty interesting so far0 -

Just a pity they forgot to pass it on to Levi then
“It was just really bad communication,” Leipheimer said. “We didn’t know any of the time gaps. In the end, Chris Horner, we have to thank him, because he was really astute. He hit the gas. Then we started panicking, asking the other teams to help. They didn’t get it. They were like, why? We were like, Mancebo still has four or five minutes. Really? Nobody knew anything. Miscommunication and race radio, maybe, I don’t know. In the end they rode fantastic.”
MGGasping - but somehow still alive !0 -
Bruyneel is fanatical about everything being lined up properly. Remember when he and Lance thought Floyd Landis was riding too hard for himself in 2004, so Johan dumped Floyd's 800cc blood refill down the toilet in front of him as punishment.0

Allegedly - unless you were there to witness this happening?M.Rushton0

Absolutely MG, difference is those races don't purport to be second only to the GTs in terms of importance.0

Yeah not sure why the camera men are so shy of wiping their lenses. Its been pretty awful footage so far. And to think i'm sitting up till 1am!0
-
Didnt it finish at half ten last night ?0
-
Astana 5 in the top 10, including the overall lead. Imagine how well they'd be doing if their radios were working !.. who said that, internet forum people ?0

Does if u get to watch it early. I on the other hand, don't have the permission of the little lady, so have to wait for the repeat at 11.150

Is Versus (or Vs or whatever it's called) the host broadcaster? It just goes to show how much experience is needed to film a bike race properly. I know the weather hasn't helped, but they aren't even getting the basics right... how far is there to go in the stage... time gaps... wiping the frickin' camera lens... and why can they film the breakaway but hardly ever show the peloton?! The only shots we ever get of the peloton are from about 50m away (or the helicopter).
They should move this race to France.0 -
And to get better weather - maybe hold it later in the year ? July perhaps ?0

Och away ye go nobody least of all the TOC organisers or riders etc or spectators think its just behind the GTs in order of importance.

For all the faults I'm quite enjoying the tracker

Would be great to have something like that for the TdF. Preferably with Harmon and Kelly commentating :-)Le Blaireau (1)0
