He's a great prospect for a really credible GT rider

I agree would like to see him do it as well he is an exciting prospect bit i think he may struggle to take 50+ secs from Luis Leon Sanchez who is a decent climber on his day on the final climb.

    SPOILER ALERT

David Moncoutie wins it, ahead of Soler and British/Kenyan rider Chris Froome.

quite a good interview with a British guy who rode well in Tour of Med too in 1980s

Odd interview with Jones as he's saying the Tour of the Med was a hard race but I thought many others tended to suggest most riders used them as training rides to get the miles in, it wasn't until Paris-Nice that things went up a level.

Dan Martin finished 3rd overall in the race yesterday, a good ride.

true.. he held top 20 in TDF GC way back in 82 or 83 until final mountain stage...he was a half decent pro at what we'd call pro tour level now...

I see Millar did not sit up on Mont Faron either, maybe aiming at Paris Nice?

A real contrast in results yesterday. Moncoutié wins on Mont Faron ahead of Soler but there's little media coverage. Mancebo wins in California and it's all over the media.

A shame since Moncoutié is a committed, clean rider whereas Mancebo's literally escaping justice. I know which result is the more impressive.

Yep clean as a whistle by all accounts and yet.............he rode for Cofidis during their doping scandal and in this forum several posters including yourself association is usually enough to condemn.

Where have I said riding on the same team is enough to condemn? I think you are quick to attack fellow forum members with wrong ideas sometimes, that you keep having a dig at some forum members instead of talking about cycling.
  • Because it's what rocks his boat.
Agitate, to provoke a response. It usually works, but very quickly leads off topic. (as here)
Reminds me of some of the posters on the old ES forum and that was a right verbal slug-fest, with the occasional cycling related comment thrown in.

Good to see both Moncoutie winning and Soler staying on his bike!

Good result for Dan Martin. I've never really heard of Jussi Veikkanen before, but it seems like he won stages in the Route du Sud and Tour of Deutschland last year.
