Hello there people!

Before now, the best i've ridden is a Saracen Vice 2003!

This coming Tuesday i'm getting my 09 Specialized Rockhopper Disc, so it's going to be quite a step up! Anyone else got this? It was great when test riding!

Just got my Rockhopper disc on thursday - and I love it...

my last bike was a cr@ppy Raleigh from 1997!!!!

Just got back into the MTB'ing 9months ago (after not riding for about 8 years)
Such a better ride position that my last bike, very clean and precise... so far I've not had it on anything other than street riding - hope to get out next weekend when the snow has all gone!
    It's been a while...
  • i have the 09 rockhopper expert, fantastic bike, enjoy
i spent all me money on whisky and beer!!!
  • I too have the 2009 Rockhopper Expert Disc which is a cracking bike. Have ridden it now a few times at Nant Y Arian and it handles everything well and as you've said, rides crisp and true.

    Have fun

  • My first proper MTB was a Rockhopper Comp before getting a Stumpjumper.

I've got a 2009 Comp. Fantastic bike, can't find any real fault with it, apart from the tyres maybe, but most people want to change them to their personal preference. Same with grips, pedals etc.
  • What is it like going up? Never got to try this. Looks a bit suspect with its geometry? ......

    Great!
  • if they still come with specialized control tyres, then i'd change them. useless in anything other than absolute bone dry conditions.
  • the bike handles the climbs ok, the geometry suits me, its just me thats the problem with the uphills

It's specialized Fast Trak's that they come with - tyres is all personal preference. not used these off road yet but fine for the now.

The wife simply wont allow me to get new tyres just now having just bought the bike LOL

No problems with uphill here either, or not with the bike anyway :D

I'd agree with the tyres though, they struggle in anything muddy. Just ordered some Panaracers to try on mine.

    Hi!

So yeah sorry to drag up an old topic but I thought it'd be better than starting a new one! ive just got my new rockhopper expert 09 today and underneath the down tube where the two cables are routed they cross over. I thought they were supposed to run parallel to each other? Seeing as you guys have gone for the rockhoppers i just wondered if you could let me know what yours are like or what they are supposed to be like?

    Thanks :D

Mine cross over too, does look a bit weird I must admit, but is normal.

I agree on the tyres though, not the best in slippery conditions.

    Pic in my sig

Oh yeah and it climbs like a mountain goat 8)

Ah right cool, thanks for getting back to me!

I'm not strictly a beginner but this is my first new bike for over 10 years! And i must say technology has changed! Its such a treat having disc brakes and lock out suspension and the like! I just dont know where to start! :P
