I think theres no rain/clouds forecast and no rain for a couple of days, no clouds mean dark skies?0 -
I will be looking out on the slim chance of seeing it in Birmingham! I won't hold my breath though!0

UK gets a few days per year when it can be seen - further north the more chance, and more chance in an active sunspot cycle.
Light pollution can be a problem from the cities!
This little outburst due to a heavy solar wind stream sending a stream of particles towards the Earth. This compresses the magnetic field and tips the aurora further south.
