Whats changed in the last ten years?

Not in MTB in general but in frame technology. I will explain!

I ride an Orange Msisle which I got when they first came out in 1999, this was probably one of the first generation of 4x / jump bikes I would guess. I got this when I packed in downhilling due to work / family commitmants. I have not really rode much for the last 6 years or so and just really started going out again at the start of last year.
Over the last year I have replaced pretty much everything on my bike but now my attention is turning to my frame which is looking pretty much second hand as you can imagine.
The question is should I get the frame resprayed etc. or should I buy a new frame? What has changed in the way of hardtail frame technology? Is my bike still "good" or should i invest in a new frame? Is my bike still "cool"?
Maybe more importantly what effect will the age of my frame have on its strength?

A lot of questions I know but I just thought I would get a few opinions. I still love the way my bike feels but after nearly 10 years I should!

Cheers

if you like it then keep it.

Personally i hated the way the mis isle felt.

Generally, as manufacturing has evolved (ie hydro forming, more forged parts) frames have got lighter and stronger. However a good old frame can still out perform a budget frame for today.

many found the MsIsle overly heavy, harsh and not that strong IIRC. But if you like it, that is all that matters! My Zasakr LE is 13 years old.
