Cheap Heart Rate Monitors

Thought I'd share this. Lloyds Pharmacy are doing HRM's for £7.99. I've been using one of them for a year on and off, and it works fine. Gives current rate, max and average. It's not the sleekest in the world and the watch strap is a bit bulky, but if you're curious about your hr then it's a cheap way of finding out.

Sounds like a good deal for a hr monitor. How often does it read your hr?

Got the book in front of me...and it doesn't say. Does it make a difference? It seems responsive enough, and as with any of them, you have to take their word on accuracy- which is given as + or - 3bpm.

It can matter somtimes when your hr changes real quick when your pushing hard, and you get frustrated by how slow it changes, but usually it doesn’t.
