Does anyone know why internet prices of the SLX crankset has aparently risen by up to £30. I was looking a couple of weeks ago and £80 was the best price now most are around £110.
Is it the excellent reviews theyve had lately and following demand as I suspect?
Dont these companies know that the price was a factor in the review being so good?

Shimano have raised all their prices recently because of the recesion :x If you see any on sale, buy 'em quick. Now that we are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ROMANS 15:10

It isn't just SLX that's gone up all Shimano stuff is going/has already gone up in price, AFAIK it's due to the falling value of the pound which affects the price of imports i.e. makes then more expensive as the Pound in this case buys less Yen.'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0

Madison have put all the prices up by 20% and in some cases more. As mentioned it is because of the weakness of the pound against the Yen.
Ultegra STI's have gone from a little over £200 to just under £300!!!0 -
SRAM done the same with Rockshox, but not so much with the drivetrain stuff.0

anything imported into the UK is rising in price, whether its paid for in Yen, euros, taiwanese dollars or us dollars
about the only currency that has not caused an increase against the UK pound is the Canadian dollar, which is also weak like the pound
Shimano Saint cranks now have a RRP of £265!!!Call 01372 476 969 for more information on UK\'s leading freeride park - Esher Shore www.eshershore.com0 -

SWEET! So I can justify spending a grand of my redundancy money on a week in Whilster because I'll be "saving money"!0 -
This is how I justified my new drivetrain and brakes, I was going to save up for a few months but by that time they'll be more expensiveUncompromising extremist0
