Something to do when there's not many new threads to interest us
Anyone up to much today? Got a lecture at 1pm till about 4 and i'm done. God knows what subject it is tho.
Bloody busses tho, takes an hour on the bus, 15 mins on my bike...but both my bikes are out of order
meh.

Urgh I'm moving house this weekend. Taken today off work to pack everything and get started moving into the new place, but having trouble with the solicitor's and they still haven't confirmed we can actually move today! Three of us have taken the day off and we've hired a van so there'll be hell to pay if it gets postponed!
On the plus side there's a garage for my bike to live in which means I'll be able to get more riding in because I don't have to drag a muddy bike through the clean house to put it on the balcony. Also we'll have 4 toilets between the 4 of us!"The problem was, I was still using my eyes even though I had them shut"
Demoted to commuting duty

OMG....what a dull lecture. I swear she said everything about 5 times over. 3 hours to get through 20 lecture slides!!0
-
I'm in the middle of my weekly stint at work. 13 hours thursday, 13 hours friday and this week I'm on 7 hours saturday as well, pffftt.
I might bring the bike to work tomorrow and ride home, or get the train half-way and ride from there, depends how I feel.
I aint been on the bike for a couple of weeks now, I really should get myself sorted, I was peed off with all the crappy weather though, and the big drinking weekend. Its high time I sorted my act out really, especially having spent shooting loads on it at Christmas.0 -
Im rough as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, its brutal, getting worse as I get older and im only 21. Nae booze this weekend though as I need to keep money. Football in Maryhill on Saturday then seeing a wee birdie...no hangover on Sunday OH YEAAAAH, its a novelty. :twisted:0
-
Hahaha, i was just going to say the same!
Really evil hangover, one of those weird ones that feels like your brain has turned to custard.0 -
Ahhh I remember them well. Hope it sorts itself out.
You been to Wharncliffe recently? I bet the riding will be difficult in the Sheffield mud?0 -
Not for a while, but I hear it is pretty slimy!
Just had a lasagne. Oh well, if it comes back up at least it will look the same as it started.0 -
errr! Perhaps you could just warm it up again and have it for lunch tomorrow!
I am super bored, here for another 1 and 3/4 hours, got some stuff to type up. bored bored bored.0 -
Damn, the toilet has broken.0
-
That doesn't sound good?
Our toilet is linked up to a Macerator, put that in google and see what happens when the electicity fails in the house in the middle of the night and you need a big fat shihaho0 -
Doesn't look good!
Bloody flush won't work, and my brother has just dropped what looks to be something from a logging plantation.
He can fix that one!0 -
-
Hehe, a doctor as well.0
-
which mag do you have a column bit for sonic? Do you still write in it, I might purchase me a copy for the train ride home.0
-
What Mountain Bike. Only a small bit (for now ;-))
This month was on upgrading!0 -
I shall purchase one from WHSmiths on the way home. In fact I remember buying one already this month, other than MBUK, does WMB have the pullout map things in it?0
-
Not pull outs, I think that is MBR.
Of course, I don't read rival publications haha!0 -
Ahh so I don't have it then. I'll buy it and see whats what!
Didn't you fancy writing in MBUK or did you not get the opportunity?0 -
It was Steve Worland who gave me the opportunity, as a crossover from the forums to the mags, and aimed more at beginners. Sort of a regular joe that people might identify more with. Fit best into WMB (MBUK got laods of contributors anyway!)0
-
well I guess its sort of true. You do seem to have an abundance of knowledge of all things bikes, which is good for a beginner to tap into, mis-spent youth up on the crags if you ask me!!!
I can't beleive I still have 1 hour to do at work - I've done loads today. I'll spend the rest of the night typing up stuff but also looking for an Evo on the trader and pistonheads, I'm probably dreaming but the plan is that I could actually own one before the year-end :shock:0 -
Lol, my 1st ever MTB experience was biking accross the crags on a Raleigh Dakota (ladies!).
How I wasn't put off for life I will never know!!!0 -
Its mint right up at the top innit, its a just reward for the slog to get up there. I love it how the climb (theres probably a few different ones) is in 2 stages, one is really tough and the other one is nigh-on impossible to clear without dabbing.
We seem to blast past good bits like that, sitting up there for a while could be extremely relaxing. I might take Mrs GT on Sunday for a nice stroll out!0 -
Yeah, the rocky singletrack running accross the top (I usually do it south to north) can be bloody tricky! Very good though - some trials manoevres needed on a short travel hardtail!
And great view as you say! Often used to walk it too, and do a bit of climbing on the rocks.0
