bike rack issue

I have a bike rack problem.... I would prefer a rear bike rack as im stupid enough to forget the bikes are on top, also the cost of roof bars + rack you are looking at 150 + . So i would like a rack for the back, my problem is that i have a specialized rockhopper and when i tried it on the back it wouldn’t fit due to the frame shape.... Does anyone have this problem or does anyone know one that would sort out my problem.... I don’t have a towbar and its for a hatchback... Thanks in advance.

Would have though a RH would have better luck fitting onto a bike rack than say a full suss. . What is your rack ? A saris Bones perhaps?Specialized Camber

Don’t have one at the moment, it wouldn’t fit on a friends rear rack, so im not sure what rack he had.. I currently take the wheel off and slot it into the back of an old car but its loads of aggro, and it only fits my bike.
False crossbar maybe a good idea..thanks0 -
I had to get a false cross bar for my bike and it works perfectly. I got mine on Ebay.
