They are quite heavy, in the market for some flats myself.
Try DMR V12s, got good reviews
or Kona Wah Wahs, quite lightNow that we are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ROMANS 15:10 -
Wellgo MG1s. Light, cheap, good bearings, big platform.
5050 have a habit of falling to bits.0 -

yea been hearing that.
I'm kinda put off by v12's. I have wellgo copies and the platform is really small and they're not that grippy
I was gonna go straitlines but I can't justify that much for pedals
Any view on NC-17 SUD Pin II S-Pro?0 -
The MG1 has abit bigger platform.
Never heard of that last one lol.0 -

seems to have some good reviews :?0 -
60 quid?! I'd want them to be gold plated at that and be able to survice a nuclear warhead!0
-
Don't see where your money is going with them...
Perfectly good pedals for half the price. Now that we are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ROMANS 15:10 -
tell me about it. pedals are uber expensive. i just dont want v12's which reduces my options greatly!0
-
Why not the MG1?
Or for more strength the B25?

I've tried quite a few flat pedals. Had the 5050xx's and they pretty much fell apart withing two months of XC riding and are by far the worst I've used. I've used Shimanos DX flat pedals quite a bit and like them. Good grip, very reliable bearings and pretty light but the pins are pretty skinny and easily damaged. DMR V12's I've always found very reliable but as has been said, have a fairly small platform which doesn't suit everyone. Bought my girlfriend some Gusset Slim Jims and have been very impressed with them so far, fairly big platfrom, good pins (which are actually grub screws, so are easy to replace) and bearings seem good so far. I've just gone for the Wellgo MG1 (with ti axles, because I'm a tart!). Only used them a couple of times but pretty impressed so far. very grippy and I've given them a couple of hard whacks and there's not a mark on them.East Anglia Biking Collective!

Another vote for the Shimano DX flatties... great pedal and lightweight too. Can be had for as little as £30 in some places (that's what I paid)0
-
gone for some slim jims nice and cheap, and if the pins aren't long enough I can easily change them
Plus their white :P0 -
Actually, thinking about this, I think I replaced the pins in my GF's Slim Jims with the DMR Terror Pins. Think the ones supplied as standard weren't very long.East Anglia Biking Collective!

Yea, i read that somewhere
Edit.. Gusset do 32 XL pins for around a fiver. ...you only get 16 terror pins for £40 -
I got some DMR V8s from my local Halfords for 18 quid. Very nice they are too.You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
I have some 5050x on my Orange (the cheapy version (the pedals, not the bike!!)) -
The good bits - HUGE platforms, plenty grippy plus you can add extra pins if need be.
The bad bits - they're sh1t. I nearly have to rebuild them after two rides and they will not stay rebuilt. Also, I sent a direct e-mail to Crank Bros explaining that I thought that the build quality was a bit iffy. Just expressing a point of view, nothing more. They virtually told me to f**k off.
DON'T BUY CRANK BROS STUFF!!! They're probably all married to their sisters too...
Think I might get some Danger Boys next...bling!!0 -

That made me laugh.....how camp!!0 -
Cause he's bought the pedals, any thoughts on Truvativ Hussefelt DH Flat 2009?
Probably I'm buying them as soon as the uni gives us back our money.0 -
Avoid - integrated pedal spikes? Ie moulded pins?
Just find a wellgo you like!0 -
Easy for you to say, I have only choise of:
Truvativ
Hussefelt and Holzfeller (too expensive)
Crank Brothers
5050 (also too expensive)
Fun
Soljam Viper (stupidly expensive)
VP
Who knows, they are too cheap.
So, only the Hussefelt match my budget (a bit too far but...).
Can't be that bad. :?
Btw, I only need a bit more grip then my curent (crappy) ones.
