GT I Drive, fork and shock size

I have recently purchased a used 2007 GT I Drive 4 1.0 frame as a project that I am going to build up. I bought it as a frame only with no rear shock.
looking at the review for it on Bikeradar it originally came with a 115mm travel Rockshock Revelation fork.
Do you think it would be ok with a 120mm fork? bearing in mind the rear travel is 100mm. i don't know if this fork was made specially for Gt because I can't seem to find any 115mm travel forks on the usual internet cycle shops (CRC, Wiggle etc.)
Also does anyone know what size rear shock I need? Have emailed GT but not had a reply yet.
Cheers.

U should be ok with a 120mm fork, its only 5mm difference and with sag taken into the equation the difference should be negligable.
I cant really help with the rear shock issue, Supersonic would be the best person here to ask with his seemingly bottomless pit of knowledge all things GT related0 -

Ye, its only 5mm.
You're right, I'm sure as soon as he sees GT in the subject he will reply.0 -
Pretty sure is 165x38. I used a 130mm fork with mine, worked well, though warranty may only be up to 100mm.0

Thanks, still haven't heard back from GT, how else can I find out for sure before I look for a shock?0 -
99% sure it is right, but you could try the importers, Hotwheels.0

Ok, will do, thanks.
What were your thoughts on the bike?
Did it climb technical sections well?
How abought on the way down?0 -
Superb! Great to pedal, fantastic climber. 4 inch of travel not the best for big boulders, but that rearward axle path does cope very well.
Light frame, but my build was quite heavy - would have liked it down at 25lbs. Seems to work better with longer fork.0 -

I was thinking of getting a 120mm travel fork but I might get an adjustable one, I have a Recon 351 U turn on my hardtail at the moment, it adjusts from 85 to 130mm, do you think that would work well with it?0 -
Very well. I used a Tora Uturn, same travel.0
