Front Shifter

I'm thinking of dropping the front shifter off my hardtail in favour of a single ring. Will it cause me any major issues if i do and if not can anyone suggest a good crankset and chain guide to replace it with.

    Shouldn't cause any major problems - just remove the shifter/mech and fit a chain guide - no need for a new crankset unless you really want one - just remove the chain rings that aren't being used anymore.

    E13 are generally regarded as some of the best chain guides i believe - saying that, i don't use one personally.
