weird steering problem

I have a FahrradManufaktur CX bike. It is a heavily built huib geared German city bike. Every now and again the steering feels weirdly gyroscopic. It seems to be pushing against the the direction of steer. Any suggestions as to the cause and how to cure it?

    I had the same problem when I changed to a heavier tyre (marathons) and over on another forum other riders have also felt it.

    Try changing tyres?
