Been looking at them for a while now. Paulscycles have just reduced them to £559.95.
Has anyone got one? What are everyones thoughts on them?
Any alternatives at this price?
I'm planning to ride it for xc, nothing too serious just a bit of fun. I'm 6ft 1 so was thinking for going for the 'L' unless anyone can tell me otherwise. (Had a XTC SX before - 19" frame)

Good performing, if basic and heavy full susser.
You seen one close up? I would.0 -
It's a good looking bike for a budget full sus,saw one at Cwmcarn a few weeks back,it looks like an much more expensive bike !!0

Any other recomendations then? I havent got anymore than £600 to spend.
Might be persuaded by a hardtail again . .0 -
Not many at this price that aren't heavy.
Look for reduced bikes ie the Giant Trance, GT Idrive.
Try for size.0 -

Too much twist from the back end through the fame on simgletrack, according to MBUK anyway, be good if there was a maxle option, but the dropouts aren't changable, are they? Now that we are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ROMANS 15:10

Depends which model, have been loads of Idrives!
XC versions don't usually require bolt thru axles.0 -
Is I-drive the same system that monsoose use, looks very similar, and the goose have had some good reviewsNow that we are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ROMANS 15:10

Very similar, they are owned by the same people and use the same patents.
Both are designed to redeuce pedal kickback by moving and rotating the bottom bracket shell slightly through its travel.0 -
I pulled the trigger on one of these, from Paul cycles.
Not had a mountain bike since being a kid ,now 35 and need to shift the middle aged spread that's begining to appear.
Initialy wanted a hard tale and though I'd found a good deal on a 08 orange at sunset MTb but it was sold out.
Saw the Yukon 1 advertised at Paulscycles,at £550, couldn;t find much less than a grand else where, so that seemd like a big positive, 12 month intrest free also another plus, but also quite a better than average write up on here. I guess there is now way a £1000 bike or should we say £550 can complete with higher end bikes, but I think value for money at £550 intrest free, it should be a very good value for money bike.
Having not had a MTB for 20 years I've know idea how heavy or light they should be and at 6'1" and overweight a bike on the heavy side might suit me.
Funniest thing that my wife couldn;t understand was that I'd bought a bike without pedals!!0 -

Probably 32lbs or more.About 4lbs heavier than your old bike.I`d personally save up a bit more and get a Trance. There was a great deal on wiggle recentlyfor the Trance X if you can up the budget.
At 6ft1 I reckon you might need the large.I am 6 ft 1 and mind my XTC could do with abit more reach.2006 Giant XTC
2010 Giant Defy Advanced
2016 Boardman Pro 29er
2016 Pinnacle Lithium 4

Just seen the Giant Trance X3 2008 on wiggle. Looks amazing for the price! It is at the very top end of my budget. Will have to save a bit more i think. Thanks for your help!0 -
What did you get if any?
I picked up a yukon Fx2 from Pauls which is great just that its a little to big, Iam 5 11 and am trying to change from a large to a medium. Rather have a better stand over. My FX2 is for sale and is like new(no marks).
