i am looking at bying some new tyres for my specialized that dont wiegh too much and have decent grip for a reasonable price 20-30 quid. does any one have any ideas. i have looked at the maxxis high rollers and the swamp things but they might be a bit too heavy and more for mud

High rollers are good and will grip on most things. The XC versions aren't that heavy either. Swampthings are definitly more gloop orientated. I'd go with the High rollers if I were you.

Upon someone else's advice, I've tried Panaracer Cinders (2.25 front / 2.1 rear) and find them very good.

TBH, I was tempted with Swampies but was told that unless you're willing to change tyres between dry and muddy conditions, the Cinders were a very good 'all-rounder' bet. 8)
