Forecast is for a sunny day, and I'm not working :P
Don't fancy fighting the traffic  up to the Lakes, so Rivi beckons.
20/25 miles including a snow covered Belmont descent.

Anyone else?

The plan is to start from the bottom barn at approx 9.30, but everything is flexible.

    Approx route is:-
Barn, then follow the reservoirs, and track past Healey Nab.
Up the pig of a road climb#1
Then the rough track through Leadmines Clough.
Up the pig of a road climb#2
Up the track past the pigeon tower to The Pike.
Over the moor (where it says "no cycling") to the top of Winter Hill.
Round the Smithills loop, including those wooden steps.
Then back to the mast road and back to the top.
Down the Belmont Descent in the snow.
Up the pig of a road climb#3
Along the rough unmade road back to the pigeon tower.
Back past The Pike to the Commonwealth Games route; down that and through the housing estate past the school, down to The Castle, and back.

    Then tea, lots of it.

    apart from my wife!

She's having her hair done at some point tomorrow so she'll be out the way for a good few hours!

If I'm able to make it I'll post on here tonight, if not have a good one!
  • Yeah, that was good. The Belmont descent was a mix of mush and hard ice. Trouble is - they both look the same till you're on it. Then the fun begins. Didn't even consider riding the Smithills steps. I'm not that brave, or foolish!

    Hi Guys,

I'm up for going round rivvy sometime after next week, only live about 15-20 minutes away. All my friends ride trials, and don't have proper bikes ;)
