Big Phil didn't have a clue

Have to say I'm glad he is gone. Chelsea have looked more inept over the last few months
than at any time in the last 6 or 7 years. He seemed to be trying to get them to play
a Brazilian type game with quick flicks and instant control which they were totally
incapable of managing. I have been a Chelsea supporter since Jimmy Greaves first
laced his First Division boots and have stuck with them through thick and thin, but was
very tempted to forget about them when they let the Great Jose go. I suspect he told
Abramovitch to take a hike and let those who knew what they were doing get on
with running the football end of things.
Mahatma Gandhi was asked by a British journalist what he thought of Western civilisation. "I think it would be a good idea," he replied.

It must be so hard being 4th in the Premiership.

Big Phil was working with an inherited team for only a few months. In business it would be ludicrous to expect someone to produce instant results, so I have no idea why football teams chop and change managers so quickly.

I hope Mr Knight will stick with Micky Adams after last nights' defeat - we need some stabilty before our new ground is available. We should stay up, recent away form has been encouraging. What do you think Nuggs?

I thought sacking him now was just silly - he's only been there 5 minutes. Jose Mourinho is a good manager (though when he left they were hardly dominating British football) but so is Scolari if given time. Given the money Abramovich has put in I'd have expected them to have more than one league title by now - he's shooting himself in the foot with all this chopping and changing.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

IMO they shouldn't have got rid of Deano. He was doing better and better as time went on.

Mickey does seem to have better contacts and so has been able to secure better players on loan (although O'Callaghan was fantastic last season).

For most of the season, the Seagulls have looked like a bit of a shower, especially at home. That said, the Hartlepool game gave me much hope for better things to come. I reckon we'll stay up.
  • Hiddink until the end of the Season. What say you Chavski fans?

  • was a real game of two halfs last night, we seemed well up for it in the first half, bur the usuall rubbish in the second.
Peterborough seemed like a class side though, as for the albion... div two here we come !
  • Chelsea along with Newcastle should be regarded as a managers poisoned chalice, any top manager must realise that if there is no instant success then its siornora, madness I say...

Big Phil didn't have a clue how to deal with mafiosi, that was his problem. Sounds like Hiddink is well used to it by now, since he already works for Abramovich who "generously" funds his salary as Russia's naional manager.

It'll not be long before someone at Chelski ends up being fished out of the Thames with pockets full of rocks and a mouth stuffed with roubles.

I feel sorry for anyone who supported Chelsea in the 20th Century and no sympathy at all for the rest (who are mostly merchant bankers anyway).
