At present i have a 2007 Giant Reign Zero and don't ride it as much as i would like, due to it being a bit heavy for all day riding.
i was thinking of something lighter like a Yeti AS-R 575 with similar travel.
I still want a reasonable amount of travel and will be buying the frame only and transferring everything across from my old bike.
Will this frame be able to cope with everything from the Alps to local xc trails or do i need to look elsewhere?

I've got a 2009 575 and find it much more capable than the monkey behind the handlebars.
Seriously though, yes, the usage range of the 575 is pretty outstanding and my XL frame comes in at 27.25 lbs, now that is amazing for such a big bike.0
