I have been looking forward to the demo day at the chase for a while now. My brother and I had both booked a couple of rides at the same times so we could ride together and test out potential purchases. Well I just got a couple of emails today telling em the rides I've booked on Trek and Gary Fisher bikes are cancelled and I'll have to try my look on the day. F# ing great that and thanks alot Trek and GF. I tell you what I'll buy a Specialized, Lapierre or Commencal instead. Well done on putting off a potential customer.

I've just got off the phone from Specialized and Lapierre, they told me you were rubbish! If I were you I'd screw the lot and go buy a Commencal Meta! That'll learn 'em!
I'm going to the same demo day, I seem to remember that most of the Trek range were book on the day already, aside from a few top end models? They obviously changed their mind even with that. You'll probably find a lot of the people who turn up wont have booked anything and the Trek and GF will be permanantly out and ragged to bits.
I normally get screwed over with these things too, being 6'6". It's normally a matter of finding out if they actually have any bikes in XL/21" and having to ride that, 1 solitary model around for hours. I went to an Orange demo day last year, I specifically contacted the organiser and asked him to get a 20" Five in for me, he agreed and said Orange were sending him one, come the day it turned out he couldn't be arsed so I was stuck on an 18" for the day. We even travelled for an hour or so for that one. Grr :?0 -

Oh and on that note, don't worry about it. One day you'll suddenly be able to get to the top of the big fireroad hill and slowwwly drag yourself onwards without that rest break. After that it'll get easier every week. When you can do a full lap at the fastest your skill will let you go it's a lovely feeling.
Besides with xmas just gone I bet most people are in your situation, I certainly doubt I can do a lap without having a breather at the moment. I was there last weekend and the track was mainly closed, what was left was gouged to bits and covered in slimey mud as well0
