Reports of my commuting death have been greatly exaggerated!

Today’s (taboo) topic:

Problems males may encounter with lycra?

Discuss.

A great example of male-lycra problems was Linford Christie. I suffer the same problem :D , or at the very least I have deluded myself into thinking that I suffer the same problem.

So, as not to break up marriages, start a mass cat fight amongst women and develop a mass gender specific complex among all the males within visual distance of my person I wear a baggy 3/4 length pair of shorts or track pants over the shorts.

Today however, after 2 whole weeks of not riding my bike and developing cabin fever I decided to sex it up a bit (yeah I said it) and put full length lycra leggings on with nothing else guarding the wonders under the equator. I didn’t realise how much it would affect my pedalling but it does it really does! I could go faster quicker and pedal harder and ride for much longer (how you doing ladies 8) ).

For the first time in my life I’m going to say (as long as no one is looking or permenatly making eye contact with me) the tighter the lycra the better...

Give it 5 mins in the current cold, wet weather, and it won't be a problem

You should have seen Greg in the pub on Friday...
  • As an aside - I think that this aspect of Linford Christie's sprinting was the best possible proof that he didn't use steroids.

    1. on the bike - not a problem
    2. off the bike, hang your helmet from it
