Ergolever Problem

I have an intermittent problem with my right ergolever... It's a Chorus 10sp lever brand new and the gear selection on it seems to be knackered.
Shifting down seems to be fine but when I press the thumb button to shift up it travels further each time until, to get into the 11, i'd be better off reaching from the far side and pulling it.
As i said, this is intermittent, sometimes it works perfectly and others i can "pump" the button and feel it not returning, but it will change at a more normal position. I have yet to work out what triggers this.
Any ideas? I don't like my chances of returning the levers as they were bought in september and sat in their box until i built them onto a new bike over new year.

I think I know the issue you're having...
1. Squirt GT85 into the lever mechanisms, shift a lot to work it into all the parts and see if that works. The factory lube is much thicker but without taking everything apart it's hard to get that kind of lube into the lever where it's needed.
2. Get them serviced by a Campagnolo Pro Shop. Condor in London is a Pro Shop and there are others that you can look up. A lever rebuild is normally £30 or so. If you're feeling ambitious and moderately dextrous there are exploded diagrams on Campagnolo's website and you can take it apart yourself.0 -
could it be your cable sticking?regards,

Sorry, should have mentioned, have changed the cable once. Is it possible that poor routing along the bars could cause such an issue?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"
