Big Country Route - Glentrool - 7 Stanes

Got a week booked up near Dumfries early June and wondered if anyone has done this 36 mile route. If so whats it like ?

  • It's pretty good if you like forest tracks and light XC. The riding is easy with nothing technical and only one long uphill. There is some very nice scenery around the northern end going past Loch Dee. I parked at Minigaff Church which breaks up the road section and did it in about 5 hours. If you have a nice weather day, go for it.
