    I think the W**ker word is has different connotations in different countries - hence many years ago Paul Hogan's comedy show - peak viewing in Aus (so i was assured by a colleague of mine) was late night TV here due to the inclusion of a regular sketch about stuntman Leo W***ker and the W***ker squad.

    They all wore t-shirts as I recall with W***ker Squad on - odd they never caught on over here.

    I think with the Paul Hogan sketch it seemed to equate with 'idiot' - nothing more slanderous than that and a much milder insult.

    i can assure you that it has the same meaning in aus as it does in the UK!
