I'm getting tired of this bloody bike build now.
With my wheelset I wasn't given an axle bolt (10mm) and it's taken until now for me to get it. (over 3 weeks).
However, i got the correct bolt today only to find that CRC have laced a 12mm rear hub NOT 10mm, even though it says 10mm on the invoice.
I'm getting FUCKING TIRED OF THIS!!
AAAARRGGGGHHHHHH.
I dunno what to do.
I don't know if the 12mm hub will fit my frame?
I doubt they can get me a 12mm bolt for 3 weeks...again.
I'll have to wait for them to send me the correct wheel, but they are gonna have to set up a pickup/delivery as i'm not bloody doing it.

I had a similar experience a few months back.
First off i needed a new seat collar so i ordered one from CRC but thanks to me being a muppet i ordered the wrong size and had to order a new replacement for it, thankfully a guy at work said he'd buy the wrong sized one fromn me for his bike so it wasnt as bad.
A few days later i wanted a new stem and CRC had an easton ea70 instock but it was the last one and it was reduced to £25 so i ordered it, it was a 135mm which i thought would be perfect being that my old one was a 120mm. It wasnt until it arrived and i was dismantling my handlebar setup that i actually checked my old stem, it was only 100mm and the new one was too long and gave me terrible back ache so was never actually used more than a couple times.
Take it from a real muppet, these things happen atleast ur problems were someone elses fault and not ur own making like mine were :oops:0 -
Thats the problem with the internet0

If your frame will take 12mm, you can get a bolt off ebay:

Not bling and prob quite heavy but will do the job whilst you wait for a proper one.0 -

Sure the frame will take the 12mm? i've no idea what the frame will take, or what differences the 12mm bolt makes.0 -
The frame takes a 10mm QR or 10mm bolt up hub. Not bolt thru, bolt up, like you find on really cheap bikes (I don't mean that in a bad way lol, all are the same that take QR!)
What hub is it?0 -
2009 M810 Saint rear Bolt thru Hub.
So the 12mm Hub won't fit my Surge frame then?
I've been given a really sexy DT RWS 10mm bolt [alu i think], however... I do believe that the actual saint one is Ti and costs around £70 [which i'm guessing is why they've said they won't get me another].
FFS i'm supposed to have the frame next week, and I had everything to make it a rolling chassis at least.0 -
This is what I should have..

Bolt up or bolt thru?!
Bolt up uses a nutted axle instead of a QR axle.
Bolt thru needs a specailly made frame like a bolt thru front hub and fork.
Some hubs can be converted.0 -

The frame has regular bolt up/Qr 10mm dropouts. IS the Saint hub a bolt thru jobbie?"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -

FYI, the 10mm bolt thru will work. I've just been and checked and it works on the standard dropouts of my GT XCR.
12mm Wont fit.0 -
This must be the biggest PITA of a build I have ever seen - I really do feel for you Ben."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

Cheers Mate....tell you what, if it isn't worth it i think i'll actually top myself. I can't believe its been this hard!
I was wanting it to be built up slowly, get the parts gradually and build it up stress free and using it as a time out from my studies.
I'm more stressed and worked up about this bloody bike than i have been with my dissertation!!0 -
Just bought my brakes to make myself happy.
Got everything apart from a bloody frame and front wheel now :evil:0
